Fitting in more summer fun

Last week was a fun week of outings and friends. Jacob invited a friend over to play on Monday afternoon and Jacob's friend has a little brother Gavin's age, so they each had a friend to play with - theoretically.

On Tuesday, we met some friends, the Wills, at a waterpark. First we went to Edina to meet them, but they were at St Louis Park. Luckily Edina gave us a refund and we could join our friends for an afternoon of fun in the sun.

On Wednesday, we went to the zoo with Kim and Logan. Another beautiful day and once again my boys appeared wilder than the zoo animals - partly because many of the animals were sleeping.

On Thursday, we made the trek to Springfield to visit my Grandma and Uncle. We met my parents in Hector so they could ride with us part of the way. We saw a crop duster spraying a couple fields which was fun to see. We had lunch with Grandma and Doug, played at a park, and swam at the Springfield pool. Despite a couple scraped knees it was a good day.

Friday was a triple header with extra innings. We started the day at a park with our friends, the Silvestains, and has Smash Burger for lunch with them. Then we met Jolene and some of her crew at Minnehaha Park to check out the falls. None of had ever seen the falls before, so that was a fun field trip. Gavin climbed up too high at one point and I had to climb up ands rescue him. The rest of the time I was worried about Wyatt slipping down the steep creak bank and into the rocky creek. The kids had a great time splashing in the creek and next time we want to ride the pedal carts (or whatever they are called).

To top off the day, we had a birthday party at the farm to celebrate Gentry and Jesse's birthdays. It was a late night, but luckily some kiddos got a nap on the way to Melrose.

Jacob and I went to watch Alyssa do the "Mudman" at Powder Ridge on Saturday morning and then we enjoyed an afternoon at the lake. It was sunny, but windy - so we got to just relax and let the kids play. Except for Fred (and Joe), who my mom got to help clean out the back shed.

We were back in Chaska on Sunday for church and a meeting I had after church. Then we ventured over to Eagan to play at Cascade Bay water park. It tuckered everyone out, especially Fred. It helped him understand how exhausting all the "fun" I have with the boys is.
