The Dogs Do Redeem Themselves

If you have ever met our dogs, you know they are loud, shed a lot and Hannah has terrible breath. However, they are and always have been wonderful with the kids. See evidence below...

Yes, Gavin fell asleep while using Harley as a pillow and Hannah as a footrest and they tolerated it and even stayed put while I took the picture. Score 1 for the dogs.

Mid-February Update

Now that we've all recovered from the stomach bug here, I can update you on our latest adventures.

Fred went off to Wisconsin with some friends at the end of January. The boys and I went up to Melrose to hang out with my family for the weekend. Jacob got to go sledding with Maddie and Isaac, with the help of Alyssa and Joe, and had a blast. I would have pictures to post, but since I stormed out of Melrose with my 3 year old that wouldn't listen anymore, I forgot the camera at Alyssa's.

Fred started school back up the first week of February. This semester he has class on Monday nights and every other Saturday. So tomorrow he'll be spending Valentine's day at his new class. I think I like this arrangement better than 2 nights a week though, those make long days.

I had Gavin's 1 year pictures taken at JCPenney last week. He wasn't too smiley, always kind of leary of strangers.

Last Friday Fred came home sick with a stomach bug. He was in bed (and the bathroom) all night and most of Saturday. Gavin also had a couple puke episodes on Friday night too, but then seemed fine.

Fred did rally in time for us to go to "prom", actually a benefit for Leukemia at the Chanhassen America Legion. We had a fun night out with our friends DJ Nate, Diana, Jason and Amy.

Think 80's prom.

I was worthless the next day and thought it was from the wine the night before, but as the day wore on and I was still not recovering I finally figured out Fred had passed his bug onto me. I did manage to drag myself and Jacob to church for Sunday school, which I had to teach - ouch. Then I was still not 100% on Monday and Fred was still run down, so he stayed home from work. Gavin was crabby all afternoon on Tuesday, I don't know if he had a tummy ache or if he is teething. Jacob didn't feel well on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, so he stayed home from school on Wednesday. I called my parents and had them come as back-up on Wednesday incase Jacob got sicker and Gavin continued to be crabby. When they arrived here though, both boys were chipper and happy to see them.

Last night I had a moms' night in with my MOMS Club. The theme was wine and chocolate. I saw Paula Deen make a fun chocolate covered strawberry topiary, so I attempted it for the night in...

No big plans for Valentine's Day. I usually try to make Fred mashed potatoes and meatballs like his mom makes. Maybe we'll watch Horton Hears a Who with the boys, its coming via Netflix tomorrow.
