7th Birthday Weekend

Jacob was star kid in his class last week, which was a great lead-in to his birthday weekend. We started on Friday night with a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese in Edina. The guest list got a little out of control and we ended up with 15 kids including Jacob and Gavin. Luckily the community center had parents' night out and Wyatt got to hang out there, so we could better focus on trying not to loose anyone's kid. We also had help from Adrea and Tim and a couple parents. It seemed way chaotic and crazy, but Jacob and the rest of the kids had a great time. Jacob got a ton of Bey Blades and some other really fun stuff.

Jacob got to get in the ticket booth and grab as many tickets as he could. He was very sly and watched the kid before him. When he got in he stepped on the 1,000 tickets ticket and bent over and picked it up from under his foot once the fans were turned on. Some call it cheating, we'll call it clever.

A mom happy that the party is over and a birthday boy looking a bit tired, but still happy.

Saturday morning the boys had soccer pictures and games. Gavin's pictures were at 7:50 AM and he had to be woken up to get there in time. The weather was sunny and warm, so he was game to play in his game and he did awesome, scoring 2 goals. Jacob's team is a little timid when it comes to getting to the ball and they struggle with scoring. The first goal they scored, after the other geam scored about 7, the fans went wild. Adrea came down to see Jacob's game and then came over to give Jacob his present - a football and tee (and I think kicking lessons from Tim).

We headed to Melrose after the soccer games. None of the boys napped, argh. We had a little family birthday party for Jacob at John Doughs. Jacob was excited to get an electric Bey Blade and Skylanders for the Wii.

On Saturday nigth we went out to Hellermanns' to celebrate Lisa and Steve's 25th anniversary. We ate way too much food, Jacob and Gavin had a great time playing with cousins, and Wyatt got to hang out with my parents.

For Jacob's actual birthday and Mother's Day, we went to church in Melrose, lunch at Middendorfs' and then headed back to the cities to go roller skating per Jacob's request. But I guess roller rinks aren't opened on Mother's day, so we had to go to play B. Which was a water balloon fight in the backyard and mini-golfing. Luckily Gavin, Wyatt and I were free (G&W due to age, me due to it being Mother's Day) and I had a 2 for 1 coupon, so the mini-golf only costs $7, it wasn't the best outing with a 1 and 4 year old and we only lasted 9 of the 18 holes. Then we headed to Cuzzy's for supper. And then one last birthday cake, the plan was to try an ice cream cake from Rainbow, but those cakes didn't appear to have enough frosting and we ended up with another cake cake.

The Wedding

Adrea and Tim got married on April 20th. It was a dry, sunny, kinda cool day in the midst of many rainy dreary days. Most of the pictures and the ceremony were outside, so we were very grateful for the sunshine and the patio heaters. Here are just a few of the pics from the day...

Adrea's nephews made a "gate" on her dressing room before she came out to see Tim.

A very good looking couple, an especially gorgeous bride.

Just the girls.
