I rarely get to be in the bathroom by myself, if you are a mom you can probably relate. So the other week when Jacob wandered in while I was going to the bathroom, he asks "why do you sit down when you go potty?" I simply reply, "I don't have a penis, so I have to sit down." He apparently cannot fathom life without his, so he says "Oh, I get it. It's in the back." I was too busy chuckling to discuss the subject further.
On cleaner subjects. I got a kid-free weekend in late February, one night home alone and one night with my high school girl friends. Very fun!
Gavin has become a big TV fan. He loves "D-d-d-d-dora", if you've heard the theme song you know why he calls her that, and "Monkey George". He is also counting to 5, which is fun to hear.
I had teacher conferences for Jacob this week and his teacher said its been really fun to watch Jacob learn and develop this year. His fine motor skills have some such a long way. (He's big into doing "mail", so if you get strange pictures in the mail, its from him.) She did say she thought he was ready to go to kindegarten next year. Yeah! I thought so too, but its nice to hear it from a professional.
I am off to scrapbook camp this weekend. I know, another me weekend. I do have to put it on the record though that Fred did go to New Orleans in January for what he calls a weekend, but was really Friday - Tuesday.
