Easter 2013

We did Easter with the Jeske's on Saturday night and church with them on Sunday morning. Then over to celebrate with the Middendorfs in Paynesville for Sunday lunch, which ran into Sunday supper.

Not too many pics from Easter, but here's what I got.

Jeske cousins.

Wyatt hunting eggs.

Gavin (aka Fluffy) bunny with his Easter loot.

Jacob (aka Carrot) with his loot.

Grandma and Grandpa Jeske with a couple bunnies. The other bunny didn't want to participate.

Road Trip Via Text

[sent Friday, March 22, 2013, 7:48 PM] (nearing Iowa)
On our way in a ford explorer not equipped with DVD. Got a later than expected start after the vehicle debacle. But got DVD players from my friend Cori, so hopefully we survive. Just done with tin foil creations, now Jacob is reading to Gav. W been sleeping since we left Chaska. Expecting to be in Kansas City shortly after midnight.

At least we have Sirius radio (to listen to the Gopher game). After a long nap W is enjoying the DVD player.

Got some sleep last night, not much. Boys awake early asking to swim. Breakfast at 730, swimming by 8 am in a cold pool. I did not go in. Jacob pushed Fred in. Hee-hee. W was happy to toss dive sticks to his brothers after one dunk. Now off the Kansas Turnpike b4 Wichita getting gas and lunch. It's snowing and 33.

In OKC for the night. Drove early and skipped Legoland to avoid more weather. Little pool full of people here- hope that means its warm.

(Lys responds with "Warm from all the pee!")

Kids and parents are waterlogged from the warm water. Heading out into the cool air to find supper.

(Dad responds asking the air temp.)

43 degrees.

[sent Sunday, March 24, 2013, 11:18 AM] (Leaving OKC)
On the road again. 350 miles to Round Rock. We all got a great night's sleep last night. Was 28 degrees in OKC this morn. Pool was balmy and warm and empty at 8 am. Fred brought us McDs breakfast by the pool. Going to see if maybe JC and I can get tickets to the gopher game tonight. Rah-rah-rah for ski-u-ma!

(Lys responds with "McDonalds by the pool...Brookings."

Yes very nostalgic.

(responding to a text from a friend about how travels are going)
Pretty good. They are being good travellers. Almost to TX. I think Jacob and I might try to go to the Gopher game tonight. I'll let you know if we get in.

[sent Sunday, March 24, 2013, 4:13 PM] (I-35 in Texas)
Traffic in the middle of TX on a Sunday afternoon. What?

[sent Sunday, March 24, 2013, 4:14 PM] (Slowly moving on I-35 in Texas)
I don't think so, we aren't that close and the traffic is thick/stopped on both sides. Doesn't look good for getting to the game.

We'll be lucky to be at our hotel for game time. No need to watch for us on TV :(

[sent Sunday, March 24, 2013, 9:53 PM] (Round Rock, TX)
We got to our room in time to see the Gophers rally and then lose. Checked out the pool, which is a good size and cold. Hopefully they warm it up, per my request. Freeze warning here tonight. High in the upper 60's tomorrow, if the winds die down it will feel warm. Might check out the Children's museum tomorrow. Good Night.

[sent Monday, March 25, 2013, 9:12 PM] (Round Rock, TX)
Just tucking into bed now. Attempted to go to the Children's museum today. After a morning of swimming and battles w a 2 yr old we got to the museum 40 mins b4 it closed. It was too cool (50 degrees) to go to the zoo or a park (since the boys were in shorts). We found an indoor play area and the boys played there for about 3.5 hours. We met Fred back at the hotel and went to a steakhouse for supper. Back to the hotel for more swimming and lots of books. Maybe back to the Children's museum tomorrow.

Playing at an indoor play area - too chilly in Austin to play outside.

Enjoyed the Children's museum yesterday then a 'Sonic' picnic at a park. Went to see the bats fly out from underneath a bridge last night. More swimming and packed up this morn. Now at a park passing the afternoon and burning energy b4 we start our trek back home.

Playing at a park in Round Rock - it had a little village built in the park. Very cute.
