Basketball and a Belated Birthday Bash

Jacob had his first basketball game on Saturday. His coach is a rookie and his dad. The purple team was ahead in the beginning thanks to some great assists by Jacob, but in the end they fell short. Jacob had a great time and that's the important part. He's getting in some extra shooting practice this week and maybe next game he'll be a little braver and put up a shot or two and maybe even score.

Jacob with a pass, we'll have to work on the bounce pass too.

On Sunday we finally celebrated Wyatt's 1st birthday with our families. His theme for his presents was balls, we have lots of ball popping toys now. They play music too, so he's spent a lot of time chasing balls and bouncing to music this week.

He enjoyed his cupcake.

Megan, Makenna, Logan, Riley and Corey with Wyatt.

We took family photos last week and got them back today. I was pretty impressed with us. Cute ones of Wyatt too for his 1 year shots.

Pumpkin Picking with my Pumpkins

We have a fall tradition of going to Peter's Pumpkins in Shakopee each year with our friends the Silvestains. We missed last year due to a baby and crappy weather, but we are back on track now. We have never been out in the pumpkin field in shorts before, but we enjoyed it very much. Each boy got to get a pumpkin, but just one - pumpkins are not cheap from Peter:)

I attempted a photo with my boys. Better than last time (see Week in Oz post).

Jacob and Gavin with friends Kyle and Avery.

I have been inspired by fall and the canvases I did for my friend Kim, so I attempted some art for our living room. The trees "leaves" are handprints of Jacob and Gavin.

Wyatt's 1 Yr Stats

Wyatt had his 1 year check-up on Monday. He weighed in at 25 pounds 2 ounces, which is in the 75-90 percentile range. He was 30 inches tall, which was in the 50-75 percentile. His head was 19 1/4 inches, 90-97 percentile. His right eye has been goopy since birth and more so even lately. We got a referral to see an opthalmologist to see about having his tear duct opened surgically, but I'll be dunking him in the pool first to see if that helps. My mom claims that that fixed mine when I was little.

Dressed up as a Ringbearer

You would think Gavin would be game for any type of "dress-up", right? Well, he wasn't so sure about his job as ringbearer, stating at one point that "Jacob can be ringbearer". So I was a little nervouse this last Saturday when our niece Lori got married and Gavin's job was ringbearer. Luckily he had become excited about this opportunity. He was a trouper through pictures and walked down the aisle while holding Monica's hand, he opted not to hold the pillow.

Mid-ceremony Gavin crashed, so the flower girl got to walk out solo.

Jacob was a bit jelous of Gavin's duties this past weekend. He asked if maybe Adrea (who just got engaged) would let him be ring bearer at her wedding, Gavin declared that he would be Drea's ringbearer. We'll see how that all shakes out. I did explain to Jacob that not everyone gets a chance to be a ring bearer or flower girl, like I'd never been a flower girl. Gavin piped in to say that when he's Drea's ring bearer, I can be the flower girl. How sweet!
