Annual Lights Tour

Tonight we took our annual drive around to look at lights. We always enjoy DQ treats as we tour, it's seems odd and perfect all at the same time. By now it's just tradition. The boys are not as keen on looking at lights as Fred and I are. Jacob just dozed off in the back seat. Gav complained about being hot and tired and begged to go home to open a present. Wyatt was our best rider this year.
We ventured over to Victoria to see if they had any spectacular displays. We decided they were no more impressive than Chaska's. Of course Fred is particularly proud of the one at 1300 Wildflower.

First Snow of the Season

We got nearly a foot of snow over the weekend. The temperature on Sunday was was mild and the snow a perfect stickiness. It made for a fun afternoon building a snowman and playing on the play set. Just as I was about to go out and join the crew Gavin came in with a bloody nose, climbing up the slide is never a good idea - especially when it's covered in ice and snow.

This is the first winter Wyatt is able to play outside. I'm seeing my snow pants getting a lot of use this winter. He loved it outside with Fred and the boys yesterday and drug me out twice today.

Fred and the boys build a snowman complete with sand bucket hat, dog bone toy eyes, poop shovel arm, and rock smile.

Wyatt all geared up.

A Conversation from the Back Seat

So, as we are driving home from swimming yesterday afternoon I say to the boys that Drea and Tim are coming to babysit.
Jacob says "Tim is coming too?"
Gavin responds "yeah, cuz Drea loves him."
Jacob replies, "they're married."
Gavin -"to each other."
I think the obvious to me, but maybe not to them made me laugh.

Christmas Decorating

We spent yesterday morning setting up trees and decorating for Christmas. The boys' little tree is packed with ornaments, every branch used, some more than once. Not the picturesque process you'd imagine here though - Jacob and Gavin did more wrestling than decorating and Wyatt preferred George TV. I guess if you know my boys, that is what you'd expect. I have my one tree left to adorn, waiting for some quiet time to enjoy it.
