Field Trips & Valley Fair

I didn't register the boys for many activities this summer. Instead we've been chilling and enjoying the local activities. Here are a few of our outings...

We saw Aladdin Jr at Stages Theater in Hopkins.

We checked out the Japanese Gardens at Normandale Community College. There aren't any flowers, but the boys loved watching the giant Koi fish swimming around.

A waterfall in the garden.

We ventured into the city to check out Mill Ruins Park and the Stone Arch bridge. The is the area in Minneapolis where Gold Medal flour mill was on one side of the river and Pillsbury on the other. We checked out the ruins and then walked across the Stone Arch Bridge and found a café called Vics for a delicious lunch, before exploring more and heading back across the bridge.

We explored with our friends the Silvestains. Here are Jacob, Kyle, Gavin, Avery, and Wyatt at the beginning of our adventure.

A view of the ruins from under an arch of the bridge.

Another waterfall found while exploring.

Another view of the bridge.

For the second year in a row, we joined the Silvestains at Valley Fair for JDRF day (juvenile diabetes, which Kyle was diagnosed with a couple years ago). Wyatt had to stay home with Grandma Mary Ann. Gavin and Avery a little braver than their height allows them to be. The big boys got to go on all but one ride, they were 54" in shoes, but when they took off their shoes they couldn't ride the RipeTide. I joined the boys on a couple rides, including Steel Venom - it was super fun, but my head can't take too many rides, I had to pace myself.

We've hit a couple of the local concerts this summer, here the boys got to participate in the Tricia and the Toonies show at Lion's Park.

Wyatt had to go help Gavin.

Wyatt joins in the limbo line.

We have a lot more on our summer bucket list and not enough time. We've enjoyed a couple days at the St Louis Park Aquatic Center and some afternoons at the Lifetime pool.
