April in Review

We started April with Easter of course. The boys got to do an Easter Egg hunt with MOMS Club. It was a windy cool morning, but plenty of chocolate and treats to keep the boys warm. Plus, a visit from the Easter Bunny himself.

I was slacking on Easter, I don't have any pictures of us when we were all looking nice for church. You'd think a scrapper would know better, or do better.

Fred and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary on April 6th. We got to go out to Maynard's to eat, so I got the butternut squash ravioli that I'd been craving. Then on the 8th we go to go see Bon Jovi in the Emerson suite. Sorry, the pictures from my phone didn't turn out. They put on a good show and we enjoyed it even though the suite was behind the stage. I figure it made us closer than half the arena. For our anniversary 'get-away' Fred and I went to Baxter for one of Fred's co-worker's weddings. We had a good time at the wedding, I enjoyed too many cupcakes, Fred a few beers, and a solid night's sleep in a king bed. Not quite the Caribbean cruise we celebrated with last year, but we like to mix it up.

Jacob had kindegarten visitation on the 23rd. He got to check out a kindegarten classroom, do a craft and have a snack, while I got "orientated". We are both looking forward to the bus coming to pick him up in the fall, though I think we're both a little nervous since he might not know anyone in his class, but hopefully there is a familiar face there.

Jacob and I planted tulips last fall and it has been so fun to see them come up. I hadn't planted them before, so they were kind of a surprise that they actually came and so early. By now they are almost done and the perennials are starting to get big, as are the weeds.

Gavin finished up ECFE class. He's had fun playing with friends and learning songs. I've enjoyed the short break each Thursday. He'll start "preschool" in the fall, where one day will be an ECFE day and the other will be a drop-off day. Gavin has entered the "why" phase and we hear it a lot, I find that if I ask a question back, it usually brings the line of questioning to an end.

As you can see, Gavin was the big man on campus.

We are getting ready for Jacob's 5th birthday. I'll try to post pictures of the celebrations in a timely manner.
