Busy...

Since Gavin turned one and he well met the weight criteria to turn his seat forward we did that before heading to Sesame Street Live a couple weekends ago. Not the best plan as I wanted him to nap on the way there and he was so interested in everything that he could now see, he didn't nap. Oh well.

Sesame Street Live - Elmo's Green Thumb was lots of fun. The Rosenbergers met us there and all the kids enjoyed it. Gavin got a little tired, but hung out and didn't squirm too much. He was probably a little young for the show, but it was fun to go as a family.

Braving the cold to tote Jacob to preschool and back 3 days a week has been the real lowlight of this frigid winter. I have to bundle both kids up, which Gavin hates, and then haul them both into the school. Arg. And it seems the colder it gets, the slower Jacob gets. Why?

We had a busy week last week. We had friends over on Monday and Tuesday mornings. Jacob had gymnastics on Monday night and had one day of school on Wednesday. On Thursday we went to the gym and then I hosted a craft for MOMS Club. Sometime in the week I had to paint all the milk cartons for the craft, glue them shut and then cut holes in them for the coins. Thursday night I went to a baby shower. Friday Jacob didn't have school, so we ran errands to get ready for Gavin's birthday party on Saturday. Friday afternoon I baked Gavin's cake and cleaned once again. Friday night I had a MOPS steering meeting with scrapbooking afterwards. We had Gavin's birthday party on Saturday and then Fred and I had cardclub on Saturday night. On Sunday morning I had to be at church for interviews for new council members and then teach Sunday school, the lesson which I found time to prepare for at odd hours in the week and with some help from my mom. I was so sick of vacuuming by the end of the week as I have to vacuum up at least one layer of dog hair everytime I have visitors, its only polite.

This week we didn't seem nearly as busy, but we had MOPS yesterday. I went to the Wild game with Kim last night. Tonight I have more interviews at church and tomorrow afternoon Fred leaves for Wisconsin with some friends and we are going to head to Melrose Friday after Jacob's school is done.

Gavin really enjoyed his birthday party. He got a nap before his guests arrived, so that helped. There were 7 kids here ages 1-6, so there was lots of action. He loved the balloons and the cake and all his new toys - yes, now we have even more toys.

Gavin playing pin the tail on the donkey. The rest of the kids got blindfolded, but Gavin got to look, which didn't help him much.

I am totally with you about getting into and out of cars with kids; especially in winter. It is definitely one of those things that reminds why 3 kids is just not an option. We have just 1 more year before Dylan moves to a booster seat - Hurray!
