My Baby is 1!

Gavin turned 1 on the 8th. Since he's too little to know or care, he got little fanfare. Grandma and Grandpa Jeske came down to go to lunch with Gavin. We met Fred and Auntie Drea for lunch at Jake's in Eden Prairie. Gavin slept through the first half, then woke up to eat whatever was left over. Happy Birthday! We did enjoy cupcakes as part of the "celebration". Gavin liked the frosting a lot. When given the whole giant cupcake I expected him to kind of dive into it, but he just picked off the frosting and ate it lazily. We will celebrate Gavin's birthday with a family birthday party later this month.

As a newly 1 year old, Gavin is completely walking. He can get up in the middle of the floor and take off. He loves to "race" around with Jacob, while I say "be careful, be careful" as I am sure that any moment Jacob will knock Gavin down and into some piece of nearby furniture. Gavin just laughs. He is still loving the phones. He says mom, dad, hi ("ha"), pup, and shakes his head no. He loves to be loud and knock block towers over. He can be quite silly. He still has a bottle, he loves it and I don't know how I am going to get him to give it up. Wish me luck!

We were in Melrose for New Year's. Fred invited his siblings over to his parents' house, while his parents went to another party. We hung out and played "Carbels", a card game popular in certain crowds in Stearns county, and ate a lot of great appetizers. Jacob stayed up until midnight and blew his noisemaker like a pro.

Happy New Year!

We have been getting used to our regular schedule again. Back to preschool, MOPS, playgroup, Tot Time at the Chaska Community center gym, and all the fun stuff. We are looking forward to going to Sesame Street Live on Saturday with the Rosenbergers. Jacob has went the last 2 years and really liked it and I am guessing he will again and Gavin will love all the music and action too.
