A Week at Home

Back home in Chaska we got to catch up with friends and catch up on some sleep. Gavin finished out his t-ball season with some extra fans - Grandma and Grandpa Jeske and Auntie Drea all gathered to watch him and then celebrate Grandma's birthday. Then on Tuesday Jacob, Gavin and I joined the Silvestains for JDRF (juvenille diabetes) day at Valleyfair. The big kids got to ride some big rides, the little kids got to ride a lot of rides and when the moms were worn out we finally drug the kids home. Gavin and Avery talked non-stop all day and then on they way to the car (8 hours later), Avery says to Gavin "don't worry, we can talk more in the car on the way home" and they did.

On Thursday we headed to the Carver County Fair. Grandma and Grandpa Jeske met us there. Grandma and Wyatt can't get enough of wandering around the fair. Jacob can't ride enough rides. Gavin opted out of the ride wristband in order to play a midway game and try out a hamster-like water ride, to make it even he did end up with an Angry Birds hat too.

Fun with jugglers, Gavin spins 3 balls.

It was a long day at the fair...

On Friday night, Fred took Jacob, Gavin and Grandpa Gene to a Twins game. The Twins "got their butts kicked", but there was a softball homerun derby after and fireworks afterwards and the boys loved that. A midnight bedtime was a rough start to the weekend though. The next afternoon we were up in Upsala for "Fam-boree 2012" at the Wenker residence. The kids love to run around with rarely seen friends and explore the creek in the backyard. We skipped the fireworks on this outing to get the kids sleeping a little earlier. Then on Sunday we had the Jeske family reunion in Woodbury. Then we sent the kids back to Melrose with my parents to start VBS and stay with Grandma and Grandpa Middendorf for a few days. Yeah!
