Gavin was 2 months old on the 8th. On Monday he had his 2 month appointment where he weighed in at 14.5 pounds (99th percentile) and was 24 inches long (94th percentile). The Dr said that was big enough to be sleeping through the night, but Gavin didn't believe him. Gavin does have a hernia in his right groin area, so we have an appointment with a pediatric surgeon tomorrow to see what they say about that. His pediatrician thought it would need surgery.
Gavin is more responsive to people now and does some smiling and "talking", its so fun. He seemed like such a serious baby for the first month and a half, its great to see him happy. He's pretty much in a pattern of eating every 3 hours during the day and then stays awake for about an hour and then naps. It works good for me to spend time with Jacob or get things done around here (not the cleaning, but other stuff).
Jacob started spring session of gymnastics and goes in by himself. Adrea used to be his "big person" in the 2 year old class, but since he's such a good kid they said he could go by himself in the 3's class. Adrea still comes down to pick him up and take him to gymnastics on Tuesday nights, one of the nights Fred has class, so that is a nice break.
Jacob has had a stomach bug for about a week and a half, meaning lots of messy diapers from the kid who usually is more on the constipated side. I had the bug for about a day and a half, so I am hoping Jacob's passes soon. If not, we'll be back at the Dr early next week.
Jacob keeps asking when his birthday is, now just 2 months away. I'm going to make him a calendar to see the days count down. He has also learned to tell a knock-knock joke. For those of you who he hasn't called, it goes Jacob "knock, know", other "who's there?", Jacob "Boo", other "Boo who?", Jacob "What are you crying about?". Since everybody has heard it, I tried to teach him a new one today, but the punchline for that still comes out as "What are you crying about?", so we'll keep working.
